Veterans Wellness Path

Introduction

The Veterans Wellness Path app was created for American Indian and Alaska Native Veterans, their families, and communities. The app supports the transition from military service to home, and encourages balance and connection with self, family, community, and environment.

Veterans Wellness Path was developed by VA’s National Center for PTSD, in partnership with the Office of Rural Health and the South Central Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center. The app was created with input from American Indian and Alaska Native Veterans, their family members, and health care providers.

Features

  • Daily check-ins
  • Tips and exercises to help strengthen relationships with family and friends, or strengthen ties to community and culture
  • Tools to heal the body, mind, emotions, and spirit
  • Suggestions for navigating health care visits
  • Resources, including information on trauma treatment or traditional healing practices
  • A multimedia journal for collecting useful information and reflections
  • Screeners for PTSD and well-being
