Average: 4.4 (5 votes)
Lock Icon - DS Logon Required Apps for Health Care Professionals that display a lock icon require VistA account credentials because they connect to the VA Electronic Health Record (EHR).

If you are a VA care team member, the VA Launchpad houses all apps that connect to VA’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) and access secure patient data. It helps you save time and better integrate VA mobile apps into your workflow by grouping all of VA’s mobile apps that require you to log in with your Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) credentials. By signing into the VA Launchpad once with your VistA credentials, you can access multiple apps without logging into each one individually. (NOTE: You can also access the apps separately without going through the VA Launchpad.)

This app will only be available to VA staff with VISTA credentials. It is currently in field test to a limited audience.

Features:

  • Find available VA Apps to assist you in managing your health care
  • Switch back and forth among multiple Apps that access your VA EHR without logging in separately to each App

Training material coming soon...

The VA Launchpad is designed to house all mobile apps for care teams that connect to VA’s Electronic Health Record (EHR), with the goal of saving you time and helping you integrate VA’s mobile apps into your workflow. The VA Launchpad serves as a convenient way to group secure VA mobile apps, so that by signing into the VA Launchpad once with your Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) credentials, you can access multiple apps from one location and without having to log into each one individually.
All of the apps that connect to VA’s EHR and are currently available from the VA Launchpad will be visible on the VA Launchpad menu screen. These apps will enable you to easily access VA’s EHR, exchange Secure Messages with your patients and manage your schedule from the convenience of your mobile device. New apps will be added to the VA Launchpad as they become available from VA.
Yes. The apps can be accessed individually. A benefit of the VA Launchpad is that it saves you time; by signing in once to the VA Launchpad, all VA apps that require your VistA credentials will be accessible from one place, and you can quickly switch between them without having to re-enter your credentials for each app.
Apps that are informational only and that do not connect to the VA EHR do not require you to log into VistA to access them.
The apps housed on the VA Launchpad for Veterans will require your patients to have a DS Logon Level 2 (Premium) Account. Please see the training materials for the VA Launchpad for Veterans for more information on DS Logon and how Veterans should use the VA Launchpad for Veterans.
A User Manual for the VA Launchpad for Care Teams, as well as training materials for each of the Apps that the VA Launchpad houses can be found on the VA Staff Member section of the training site at mobile.va.gov/training. Additionally, you can find information about the VA Launchpad for Veterans and the Apps it houses on mobile.va.gov.
