Michigan Magic app is designed to improve decision-making in vascular access. Peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs) are among the most commonly used central venous catheter (CVC) in contemporary medical practice. The rise in popularity of PICCs reflects several advantages, including safe insertion and growing availability of vascular access nurses that offer convenient bedside insertion. However, PICCs are also associated with important complications, including deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI). Judicious use of PICCs to balance these risks against benefits is therefore necessary.

Michigan MAGIC app is designed to help guide users by providing recommendations on appropriate PICC use. Based on user feedback, the Michigan Magic app will present the user with an easy to use set of recommendations on the appropriateness or inappropriateness of intravenous catheters as well as further information derived directly from MAGIC.

Virtual Care Manager

Create, view, and join VA Video Connect Visits from one application.

Virtual Care Manager enables clinicians to create*, view, and join video visits and create group visits. With Virtual Care Manager, it is easy to invite Veterans' family or caregivers, as well as additional VA staff, to video visits.

Need Help? VA can help you get set up or troubleshoot technical problems. Call the Office of Connected Care Help Desk at (866) 651-3180 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

IMPORTANT: LAUNCH REQUIREMENTS

  1. You must be on the VA network.
  2. You must have VistA login credentials that include the OR CPRS GUI CHART secondary menu option.
    • If needed, work with your local Health Informatics Specialist, Information Security Officer (ISO) or Information Resource Management (IRM) staff to have these menus added.
  3. Ensure that you have a PIV card that is linkedto the same VistA instance(s) for which you have the required secondary menu options in step 2.

*NOTE: Virtual Care Manager does not place an appointment in VistA. To schedule future video visits, please work with your clinic schedulers.

Doximity app provides a way for care teams to call patients if you do not want to give out your phone number. The app is setup by creating an account through Doximity, the app's vendor, in order to validate health care professional credentials. The Dialer feature in the Doximity iOS and Android mobile app allows verified Doximity users to call their patients using their cell phone and makes it look like you're calling from your office line, displaying an office/hospital number on the patient’s Caller ID. Enter your log-in credentials, and you will see an option to add a secondary email. Note: your va.gov email account may be listed as the primary or the secondary email on the account. Once your va.gov email has been added, Doximity will send an email to that address for verification. Open the email and verify the address. Once done, you should have full Doximity Dialer Enterprise access. There will be no additional notification sent that the account is covered under the enterprise agreement.

The Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA) Pay mobile application (app) is an interactive tool to assist Veteran beneficiaries and/or medical providers in looking up the participation status of CHAMPVA medical codes.
